Role Overview

Our client, a specialist within their industry sector, is seeking to appoint a permanent Estimator experienced in a machining environment. This role entails supporting a busy production team while reporting directly to the Sales Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Sales Director and production team to facilitate cost estimation.
• Use machining background expertise to calculate task durations in a conventional machine shop setting.
• Apply the company's ERP system, EFACS, to compute job costs accurately.
• Analyze sketches and engineering drawings to assess the time needed for machining tasks.
• Identify and source costs for materials and subcontracted work.
• Interpret detailed repair plans to estimate service and repair job expenses.
• Compile comprehensive repair quotes and prepare draft quotations for customers.
• Maintain detailed calculation records in a database to support continuous efficiency improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Committed to delivering excellence in quality, cost management, and on-time delivery.
• Highly accurate, adaptable, and flexible in approach to daily tasks.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word along with solid experience using ERP systems.
• Ability to function effectively within a small, diverse team environment.
• Educational background in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Benefits and Working Conditions

• Salary is negotiable, based on the candidate's experience.
• Standard working hours are 37 per week, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday.
• Annual leave includes 25 days plus bank holidays.
