The Engineering Manager for AI Agents & Accelerators leads a high-performing team developing AI-driven solutions that revolutionize how legal professionals analyze and interact with data. This role focuses on building two strategic products: AI Agents and AI Accelerators, both aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy in legal workflows and reducing litigation costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of software, data, and AI engineers, fostering an innovative and collaborative culture.
• Drive the end-to-end development of AI agent functionalities, including complex conversational systems, orchestration, retrieval, tool integrations, and user experience.
• Lead AI accelerators from inception through production, ensuring solutions scale, deliver measurable impact, and operate reliably.
• Collaborate closely with product management, legal experts, operations, and other engineering teams to align and execute on shared goals.
• Set up rigorous evaluation frameworks and quality metrics covering accuracy, citation integrity, relevance, and system dependability.
• Implement testing strategies that validate AI models, workflows, and prompts prior to deployment.
• Define operational policies for AI workflows, establish clear escalation paths with human oversight, and ensure compliance with security, legal, and ethical AI standards.
• Optimize performance for both real-time and batch workloads, balancing latency, throughput, quality, and cost-efficiency.
• Provide architectural guidance, participate in code and design reviews, and coordinate with global engineering leaders to maintain consistency and innovation across the platform.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical area, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering scalable, production-level applications and platforms.
• Track record in building customer-facing software where reliability and user trust are paramount.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, data-processing, batch jobs, or event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with modern web and cloud technology stacks such as Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in globally distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI, large language models, and agentic AI architectures.
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, search, and information retrieval technologies.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks like LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar tools.
• Expertise in AI evaluation methods including benchmarking, quality assessment, and hallucination detection.
• Understanding of model fine-tuning, optimization, inference strategies, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with enterprise AI applications that support knowledge-intensive tasks.
• Background in legal technology, eDiscovery, compliance, investigation, or document review processes.
