Electrical Technician - Shared Business

Job Overview

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining automated robotic zones, ensuring smooth day-to-day warehouse operational performance. Tasks include troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and supporting mechanical and electronic systems integral to warehouse automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and clear robot operational areas by removing debris, fallen totes, or packages to prevent disruption.
• Manage computer hardware upkeep and perform necessary maintenance tasks.
• Implement Lock Out Tag Out procedures to ensure safety during maintenance.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance complaints to minimize downtime.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance using checklists at designated sites within the warehouse.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on equipment and machinery as needed.
• Clean, lubricate, adjust, and inspect parts and machines to maintain operational efficiency.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by lead engineers or technicians supporting warehouse automation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Completed Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• At least 2 years experience in electronic maintenance and repair, specifically with belt, conveyor, and pulley systems.
• Availability to work on rotating shifts including day and night shifts to support 24/7 operations.
• Possession of a valid Class 3 driving license.
• Preferably experienced with warehouse automation electronics such as PLC modules, HMI, SCADA systems, UPS, camera and QR code systems, and Wi-Fi access points.
• Knowledge of mechanical aspects of automation including robot picking mechanisms and general warehouse electrical systems such as breaker systems and cabling.
• Having a license to work at heights and familiarity with basket-type scissor lift operation and maintenance is advantageous.
