Electrical Technician - EOT Crane and Hoist Systems

Overview

This role involves comprehensive responsibilities related to the electrical installation and upkeep of EOT cranes and hoist systems. The technician will be engaged in wiring, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical components including control panels, motor connections, limit switches, wireless remote systems, and safety mechanisms associated with crane electrification.

Key Duties

• Perform installation and wiring tasks for CD Hoists and EOT Cranes.
• Connect and configure various limit switches such as Cross Travel and Long Travel two-way lever types.
• Manage wiring for parent/main contactors in new and existing control panels.
• Install and maintain C-Rail electrification components.
• Execute wiring and adjustment for brake systems in line with technical guidelines.
• Interpret electrical schematics and drawings accurately for system integration.
• Wire and troubleshoot control panels including contactors, relays, overload protections, and related devices.
• Ensure accurate cable routing, wire ferruling, termination, and proper labeling.
• Conduct pre-energization verification of all electrical connections.
• Measure and log motor current during commissioning and upkeep tasks.
• Test functional operation of crane motions and safety interlocks.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults promptly.
• Support commissioning phases and customer demonstrations.
• Install and configure wireless remote-control systems and anti-collision safety devices, including calibration and testing.
• Adhere strictly to electrical safety standards, including lockout/tagout and use of safety equipment at heights.
• Maintain thorough service documentation, inspection records, and commissioning reports to uphold quality and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent certificate.
• Proficient understanding of industrial electrical wiring and control circuits.
• Experience working with EOT Cranes, Hoists, or related material handling equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and execute troubleshooting on control panels.
• Familiarity with contactors, relays, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), limit switches, and remote control systems.
• Knowledge of anti-collision systems and crane safety standards.
• Willingness to travel and perform work at client locations.
