Electrical Estimator

Overview

Primary Duties

• Create comprehensive and precise project cost estimates encompassing materials, labor, and related expenses.
• Analyze project specifications and drawings to produce competitive bids.
• Coordinate closely with sales and engineering teams to ensure smooth transition of secured projects.
• Assess project scope, technical details, and requirements to align estimates with customer expectations.
• Track project budgets through the tendering phase, ensuring estimates remain within set financial boundaries.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all estimates, tenders, and related communications.
• Provide senior management with detailed reports on project performance and accuracy of costing.
• Stay informed on market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and emerging technologies to keep estimates competitive.
• Identify pricing and project delivery risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Holds NVQ Level 3 or higher in an electrical field or possesses equivalent industry experience.
• Possesses strong analytical and numerical capabilities.
• Exhibits high attention to detail ensuring accuracy in estimates.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
• Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Has excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
