Role Overview

Due to ongoing expansion, the company is seeking a seasoned Electrical Estimator to produce precise and timely cost estimates for projects, spanning from pre-tender through post-tender stages. The role involves regular communication with both internal teams and external parties involved in the estimating process to maximize the company's commercial benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent workflow to support operations in both Ireland and the UK.
• Ensure tenders adhere to company procedures and are completed uniformly.
• Analyze and understand actual installation times and evaluate discrepancies between project budgets and costs after completion.
• Collaborate within the estimating team to help meet revenue goals by providing accurate and prompt estimates.
• Communicate with colleagues to share and implement best practices within estimating activities.
• Structure tenders accurately and consistently in accordance with company policies, taking into account all foreseeable construction, technical, and commercial risks.
• Perform precise take-offs and measurements for tenders, inputting these into estimating software for comprehensive cost understanding.
• Manage enquiry vetting to ensure timely and accurate requests to suppliers and subcontractors, validating quotations and confirming specifications compliance.
• Develop product substitution and value engineering proposals to optimize costs.
• Stay updated on market pricing trends, competitive activity, and work volumes to prepare relevant and competitive estimates.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or in preparing electrical cost estimations.
• Familiarity with electrical installations is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
