About the Role
Join Ventia's Rig & Wells team and contribute to vital mineral, energy, and water well projects across Western Australia and Olympic Dam, South Australia. As a Drilling Offsider, you'll play an essential role assisting drilling crews and supporting daily operations to ensure the safe and efficient execution of drilling programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Drillers with various drilling activities and crew operations
- Handle equipment and provide rig assistance
- Collect and prepare samples for analysis
- Prepare, maintain, and keep the site clean and orderly
- Load and unload supplies and materials safely
- Operate vehicles, plant, and machinery when authorized
- Utilize power tools and assist in general labor tasks
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and safe work practices
- Collaborate effectively within a close-knit team
Candidate Profile
Applicants should be safety-oriented, dependable, and ready to work in physically demanding conditions, including remote sites. Ideal candidates possess:
- HR Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain one
- Experience in laboring, construction, mining, civil, drilling, agriculture, or related fields
- A strong safety commitment
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative team mindset
- Ability to work in challenging and remote environments
Preferred Qualifications
- High Risk Work Licence
- Experience operating heavy machinery or plant equipment
- Skills in welding, grinding, or hot works
- Prior experience in drilling, mining, or resource sectors
Work Conditions & Schedule
Ventia operates 24/7 with varying roster patterns including 2 weeks on/1 week off, 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, and 3 weeks on/3 weeks off. Expect a minimum of 12-hour shifts with day and night rotations, early starts, long workdays, and remote camp locations. Additional hours may be required to meet project demands.
