Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive grooming services including bathing, drying, nail clipping, brushing, and breed-specific haircuts.
• Create a positive and memorable grooming experience for customers and their dogs.
• Coordinate grooming appointments in collaboration with the store management.
• Manage client bookings efficiently.
• Support the store team by providing excellent customer service and engaging meaningfully with customers.
• Uphold excellent salon presentation standards and manage grooming stock levels.
• Collaborate with the store team to consistently achieve membership program goals and sales targets.
• Participate proactively in local marketing initiatives and recruitment referral programs.
• Maintain a strong safety culture within the salon and store environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in professional dog grooming, with qualifications preferred.
• Knowledge of breed-specific clips and grooming practices aligned with brand standards.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to implement safety protocols across the grooming salon and store.
• Physical capability to handle and lift animals as required.
• Experience in handling live animals with care.
• Advanced understanding of zoonotic and skin diseases, including identification techniques.
• A track record of meeting or exceeding grooming KPIs through quality care, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop rapport with customers and colleagues.
• Detail-oriented approach with a focus on high grooming standards.

Additional Information

• Position is full-time, requiring 40 working hours per week.
• Location: Hastings District, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
• Salary ranges between $25 and $30 per hour depending on experience and skills.
• Applicants must provide relevant documentation such as certificates and references from grooming academies or courses.
