About The Role
Located in Henderson, Western Australia, the Document Controller will oversee the management of project-related technical documents. This role involves independently and collaboratively supporting project objectives under supervision, utilizing expertise in document control systems and approved software to maintain efficient project and team operations.

As part of the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement, Austal is spearheading a continuous naval shipbuilding initiative in Western Australia aimed at fostering innovation, national capability, and long-term industry and workforce growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage document lifecycles encompassing creation, review, approval, and distribution phases
- Upload, publish, and maintain technical documentation with accurate metadata within the Document Management System (DMS)
- Maintain accurate version control and comprehensive engineering document archives
- Monitor document revisions, approvals, and preserve historical records
- Conduct quality assurance checks ensuring adherence to delivery schedules
- Coordinate workflow and communication with various stakeholders
- Prepare and organize audit documentation for physical configuration inspections
- Maintain document registers, transmittals, and handle urgent retrieval requests
- Manage and expedite supplier documentation deliverables
Candidate Requirements
- At least two years of experience in document control or records management roles
- Proficiency with electronic document management systems and attention to metadata accuracy
- Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Eligible to obtain Defence Security Clearance
- Possession of a qualification in document control or information management is advantageous
- Experience in strictly regulated industries with robust documentation protocols is desirable
- Exposure to Defence projects is a plus
- Maritime industry experience is advantageous
