Role Overview

The Distribution Centre Shift Supervisor will be charged with overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure safety, efficiency, accuracy, and high operational standards. This leadership role includes managing a team of warehouse staff, monitoring performance metrics, maintaining inventory standards, and fostering ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Maintain smooth inventory flow and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Track and support operational targets related to service and productivity.
  • Conduct stock audits, investigate inventory discrepancies, and handle reporting duties.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse management and ERP systems.
  • Organise upkeep for warehouse equipment and facilities, as well as supplies.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture aiming for zero harm.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Engage in hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse teams through training and performance management.
  • Model company values and leadership behaviors while encouraging an accountable culture.
  • Identify and execute initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers and contractors.

Candidate Requirements

  • Formal qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, or related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of experience in warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Proven track record in supervising warehouse teams successfully.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP solutions.
  • Strong skills in performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Customer service experience with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
