About the Role
Join Boots UK as a Dispenser, playing a vital part in the pharmacy team and supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective pharmacy services. This in-store role emphasizes patient care through understanding individual needs, handling prescription dispensing, and advising customers on medicines and wellness to help them make informed health choices.
Key Duties
- Dispense prescriptions safely by managing medicine orders, labelling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborate with pharmacy colleagues to assist in efficient delivery of services.
- Offer advice and support to patients regarding medication usage and refer queries to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures for legal and safe dispensing practices.
- Stay current with operational procedures and innovations within the store environment.
- Help patients manage prescriptions effectively, promoting adherence and minimizing medication waste.
The role involves using advancing in-store technologies designed to improve safety and streamline dispensing processes. Regular training will foster continuous healthcare knowledge growth and open career development possibilities, including progression to Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification (or equivalent), or completion of the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid right to work in the UK; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not provided.
- Preferably, experience within community pharmacy settings.

The hourly wage starts at £13.92, reaching up to £16.64 in select London locations.
