Director, Project and Construction Management (A&A)

About the Role

Join Marina Bay Sands as a Director overseeing Projects and Construction Management specifically in the Alterations and Additions (A&A) segment. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Project & Construction Management, this senior leadership role serves as a critical support to strengthen delivery capabilities and manage a growing portfolio of projects within a complex, live operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer advanced delivery leadership and practical assistance to project and construction teams to maintain high standards consistently across all projects.
• Assist the Executive Director by clarifying project priorities, coordinating delivery efforts, handling escalations, and ensuring disciplined project management methods are applied.
• Mentor and guide staff in managing complicated project scenarios, stakeholder interactions, and risk mitigation.
• Enhance governance through clear project schedules, milestones, reporting frameworks, escalation methods, and risk and decision controls.
• Engage in initial project planning including design review, tendering, procurement, contracts, logistics, phasing, site execution, and closeout planning to anticipate and manage delivery risks and operational restrictions.
• Ensure consistent monitoring and reporting on project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, change management, risk levels, quality, safety, stakeholder coordination, and construction progress.
• Standardize project documentation, communication, reporting, approvals, quality assurance, and contractor performance oversight across assignments.
• Assume direct leadership of key A&A projects as assigned, managing all phases from inception to closeout, including onsite coordination, contractor management, and issue resolution.
• Drive project teams to make informed delivery decisions that respect timelines, budgets, safety, design requirements, and operational constraints.
• Support the Executive Director in growing the portfolio by enhancing team capacity, refining roles and responsibilities, and recommending resources or focus areas as needed.
• Contribute to process development, defining standards, and governance improvements to support scalable and consistent project delivery across the expanding team.
• Identify and implement initiatives to boost project delivery capacity, team effectiveness, and operational resilience within the function.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline in the built environment.
• Additional professional certifications in project or construction management, engineering, or a related field are advantageous.
• At least 20 years of experience managing large-scale projects and construction within hospitality, integrated resorts, commercial retail, A&A or live operating facilities.
• Proven track record of successful end-to-end delivery of complex projects from planning through to handover and completion.
• Experience mentoring project teams, upholding delivery standards, and managing key projects directly.
• Extensive expertise in project controls, program oversight, risk management, stakeholder engagement, contractor relations, reporting, issue management, and change control.

Required Skills and Other Prerequisites

• Strong hands-on understanding of construction techniques, consultant coordination, procurement, contracts management, cost control, scheduling, quality assurance, safety standards, and stakeholder engagement.
• Exceptional ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, manage stakeholders, and deliver executive-ready presentations and reports.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when managing risks, confidential information, escalations, and commercially sensitive issues.
• Capability to operate efficiently in dynamic, complex live operational environments, including conducting regular site visits within active construction and operational zones.
• Flexibility to support project or business needs beyond standard working hours, including nights and weekends when necessary.
• Proficiency in key software platforms including Microsoft Project (planning and schedule monitoring), Microsoft Excel (project controls and reporting), Microsoft PowerPoint (executive presentations), Bluebeam (drawing and construction document review), and Aconex (document control and project correspondence).
