Role Overview
Reporting to UDST's President, the Director of Human Capital will spearhead strategic guidance and continuous assessment of both immediate and future human capital objectives. This role requires promoting a culture of excellence and ensuring adherence to applicable Qatari laws and university policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and align the Human Capital Directorate’s business plan with UDST's strategic goals, collaborating with leaders to implement initiatives and policies.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, providing expert counsel on human capital matters, strategic planning, talent management, and fostering continuous organizational improvement.
- Oversee all aspects of the Human Capital function including talent acquisition, management, localization efforts, leadership development, employee relations, operational efficiency, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Direct strategic workforce planning and recruitment efforts, establishing best practices for attracting, developing, and retaining skilled personnel.
- Develop comprehensive recruitment strategies working alongside Business Unit Heads, ensuring diverse and qualified talent pools, especially for senior and faculty roles.
- Lead talent management programs, implement training plans, support career growth, and succession strategies to maintain a high-performing workforce.
- Create and maintain a performance management system encompassing goal setting, appraisals, feedback, and support for all university units to nurture excellence and employee development.
- Manage the formulation and communication of human capital policies, address workplace issues fairly and promptly, and promote a positive and compliant work environment.
- Drive innovative training programs and integration of new technologies to improve workforce skills and foster continuous improvement within the university.
- Champion process documentation, data structuring, and controls to support human capital automation and technological advancement projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Professional certification in Human Resources or related fields is preferred.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in human capital or related domains, including a minimum of 5 years in managerial roles.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic languages is essential.
