About the Role
Join Singtel as a Director in Group Network Cyber Security, offering leadership within Group Strategy, Engineering and Innovation (GSEI) under Group Technology Network. This role focuses on steering the telecommunications network cybersecurity strategy across the Singtel Group and its regional affiliates to ensure cohesive alignment with wider strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the network security strategy in partnership with Group Cybersecurity, aligning with corporate objectives, risk tolerance, and industry directions.
- Provide visionary leadership to guarantee network security's durability, scalability, and compliance throughout the Group.
- Establish and govern a comprehensive network security architecture framework based on industry standards and proven best practices.
- Ensure widespread adoption of network security guidelines covering several domains such as core, access, transport, cloud, and edge networks to enhance overall security and resilience.
- Evaluate and provide strategic advice on emerging technologies including 6G, AI-integrated networks, forecasting their impact on cybersecurity needs and capabilities.
- Translate complex technical developments into clear, actionable advice for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange across Singtel and associated regional companies by establishing forums, platforms, and communities of practice focused on network security.
- Promote a culture committed to continuous development, shared responsibility, and proactive management of risks and incidents.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least a decade in telecommunications with profound expertise in large-scale, carrier-grade network cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical, strategic, or architectural roles within telecommunications network environments.
- Proven ability to craft and implement security frameworks and design principles spanning multiple network domains.
- Experience applying and adapting industry standards such as 3GPP, ETSI, NIST, ISO/IEC, Zero Trust, and Security by Design into practicable security measures.
- Skilled in collaborating with regional operating companies and balancing group-wide policies with local regulations and operations.
- Insight into emerging technologies including Quantum safe cryptography, 5G/6G, network virtualization, cloud-native infrastructures, AI-driven networks, and automation.
Technical Expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge of telecom network architectures and protocols, including fixed, mobile, IP, transport, and cloud-native systems.
- Expertise in network security areas such as segmentation, identity and access management, encryption/key management, signalling and API security, as well as monitoring and detection mechanisms.
- Experience with secure network designs, resilience, redundancy, and high-availability principles fitting carrier-grade environments.
- Awareness of telecommunications regulations, compliance standards, and infrastructure security assurance.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills
- Capacity to influence effectively within a matrixed organisation, coordinating across multiple operating companies and geographical locations without direct reporting lines.
- Strong stakeholder management, able to engage diverse groups including cybersecurity, network engineering, operations, and risk teams.
- Adept at communicating complex technical matters into straightforward, actionable messages adapted to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated success in creating communities of practice that encourage knowledge sharing and embed security-by-design cultures.
