About Help at Home
Help at Home is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their own homes and communities. Job Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
- Encourage engagement in social and community activities like shopping and events.
- Support clients in achieving personal goals and acknowledge their progress.
- Promote independence, choice, and advocacy skills.
- Accurately record care activities and progress.
- Communicate consistently with team members to maintain quality support.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Successful completion of background checks and required training.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance verification.
- Ability to work respectfully and safely within clients' homes and communities.
- Compassion, dependability, and commitment to making a positive impact.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) or autism.
- Familiarity implementing Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS).
- Knowledge of behavior support techniques such as redirection, visual prompts, and environmental modifications.
