Overview
Join as a Design Development Engineer focused on vehicle dynamics with a leading Fortune 500 company, facilitated by Quess Corp in Chennai. This opportunity demands 6 to 8 years of automotive design experience, particularly in vehicle dynamics, chassis, and systems integration. The role involves a 5-day workweek from the office environment.
Key Duties
- Design and develop vehicle dynamics and chassis-related automotive components and systems.
- Conduct vehicle integration including packaging, clearance, and interference analysis.
- Support the advancement of vehicle dynamics, kinematics, and engineering tasks.
- Create and review 3D models, 2D technical drawings, and all related engineering documentation.
- Manage design releases, engineering modifications, and overall product development processes.
- Lead design reviews and assist in prototype development, testing, and validation procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as suppliers and manufacturing to resolve technical challenges.
- Implement engineering standards including GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, and DFA during product lifecycle.
Required Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in vehicle dynamics, chassis design, and vehicle integration.
- Background in automotive product development methodologies.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA, UG-NX, and Creo.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and digital mock-up (DMU) processes.
- Experience handling design releases and engineering change controls.
- Sound understanding of automotive design and manufacturing workflows.
Essential Criteria
- 6 to 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Compensation package up to ₹13,00,000 annually.
- Preferably available for immediate joining or within a 15-day notice period.
- Located in Chennai and able to work onsite five days a week.
- Availability for face-to-face or virtual interviews as per hiring manager’s discretion.
