Demi Chef - Executive Lounge

Position Overview

As a Demi Chef in the Executive Lounge at JW Marriott Singapore, you will be responsible for preparing special meals along with substitution items, managing and regulating cooking appliances such as ovens, grills, broilers, and roasters to ensure food is cooked to standard. Your duties will include thawing food appropriately, ensuring correct portioning and garnishing, and maintaining detailed food logs to monitor quality and quantity.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook various dishes following recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
• Manage temperature controls of kitchen appliances and maintain food storage procedures such as thawing in refrigeration.
• Track food quantities and communicate any excess items for daily specials while informing the Food & Beverage service staff about menu updates or shortages.
• Ensure cold food preparation and adhere to hygiene, safety, and security policies rigorously.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues during peak times to keep operations smooth and meet guests’ needs proactively.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 pounds), and other activities required to maintain kitchen operations efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and protect company assets and proprietary information.

Qualifications and Experience

• Formal education background from a Technical, Trade, or Vocational school.
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience within culinary or food preparation environments.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No special licensure or certifications necessary.
