About the Role
Elgas Limited is actively seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join their busy team in Christchurch, New Zealand. This role involves delivering and refilling LPG gas cylinders to residential and commercial customers across the region while maintaining high safety standards.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, starting approximately at 6:30 AM and concluding no later than 5:00 PM
- Occasional work on Saturdays is required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and replenish LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses
- Engage directly with customers, providing assistance and answering any questions
- Handle dangerous goods with meticulous attention to safety and compliance standards
- Operate handheld delivery computer equipment during deliveries
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a clean Class 2 driving license with a minimum of two years experience driving Class 2 vehicles
- Capability to drive manual transmission vehicles and demonstrated prior experience in goods delivery
- Physical fitness and ability to manually lift heavy items regularly
- Dangerous Goods licence and LPG filling experience is preferred; otherwise, willingness to undergo training
- Strong emphasis on customer service skills;
- Sound geographic knowledge of the Christchurch region
- Proactive attitude and dedication to health and safety procedures
- Successful clearance of criminal, ACC history, medical, and drug & alcohol background checks
- Team player mindset with flexibility to meet business demands
