Role Overview
Join our delivery support team as a pivotal member, putting your forklift operation and order management expertise to work to ensure efficient delivery processes. This role offers a dynamic atmosphere, stimulating challenges, and ongoing safety-focused training within an organized setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely to load, unload, and transport materials, as well as prepare deliveries
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and carry out routine preventative vehicle maintenance, reporting any repairs needed to a supervisor
- Prepare shipment orders by identifying, locating, and securing materials per shipping instructions and completing all necessary paperwork
- Assemble customer orders carefully and load them onto delivery vehicles, considering load security, minimizing transport damage, order use sequence, and route optimization
- Adhere strictly to health and safety policies and safe work practices
- Carry out additional related duties to support smooth store operations
Candidate Requirements
- Familiarity with wood types and grades, plus knowledge of seasonal products and appropriate storage and damage prevention techniques
- A valid reach truck certification
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and loading is advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
