Role Overview

We are seeking a Deli Assistant for the Centra Barbarian location in Newcastle, Co Down. This full-time role involves working 37.5 hours weekly, with shifts during days, evenings, and weekends requiring flexibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare food items adhering closely to food safety regulations.
• Maintain and complete necessary food safety documentation.
• Cook and serve deli products while delivering excellent customer experiences.
• Support the deli supervisor with ordering stock, inventory management, and merchandising.
• Carry out daily cleaning and thorough sanitation of deli work areas and equipment.
• Occasionally provide assistance on the shop floor and operate the till following training.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

No prior experience in deli or retail areas is required as full training will be offered. We're searching for positive team players eager to learn and improve their skills.

Preferred qualifications and skills include:

• A minimum of Grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) or half a year of experience in a fast food, café, deli, or hot counter environment.
• Previous teamwork experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge or experience with HACCP food safety standards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
