Decorator - Full Time Night Shift

Role Overview

This role involves creating memorable in-store experiences by preparing and decorating cakes and pastries to enhance customer celebrations and dining occasions. The decorator engages directly with customers by taking orders, labeling products accurately, and delivering friendly, knowledgeable assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, decorate, and display cakes and pastries based on recipe guidelines and production schedules.
• Serve customers courteously and efficiently at the cake counter.
• Price, box, and stock products properly, maintaining quality and correct rotation on the sales floor and coolers.
• Support department manager with daily operations including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, taking orders, and supervising part-time staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards according to company policies and relevant legislation.
• Adhere to production plans, accurately recording waste and scan outs following company procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experienced cake decorator with prior experience required.
• Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
• Availability for overnight work shifts.
• Ability to manage dynamic work environments and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Leadership experience is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication prowess.
• Food Handler’s certificate is a beneficial asset.

Additional Information

This position is unionized with pay rates established by a collective bargaining agreement. The starting wage range is from $17.60 to $25.96 per hour. Employment is through an independently owned franchise of Fortinos, licensed by Loblaws Inc. Artificial intelligence technology is utilized for screening, assessment, and selection processes.
