Role Responsibilities
This full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi involves actively reaching out to customers via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings to follow up on overdue payments and successfully negotiate achievable repayment arrangements. The daily duties include examining account details, updating internal records, drafting repayment plans, and meticulously documenting all communications. Collaboration with finance and customer service departments is essential to address disputes, clarify balances, and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant laws. The role requires meeting individual and team collection targets while maintaining professionalism and a customer-centric approach.
Candidate Qualifications
- Competency in debt and cash collection, including negotiating payment terms and managing delinquent accounts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to conduct challenging conversations professionally.
- Proficiency in computer usage, notably in spreadsheets, databases, and collection or CRM software.
- Fundamental knowledge of finance concepts such as account statements, interest calculations, and payment plans.
Additional valuable traits include prior experience in collection or customer service roles, familiarity with local debt recovery regulations, keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capability to work effectively under targets and deadlines.
