Position Overview

Calibre Steel invites applications for a dependable and industrious Steel Warehouse Storeperson to become part of our expanding team on a permanent full-time basis. This role presents a promising path for individuals passionate about practical work, teamwork, and who are committed to upholding a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and yard environment.

Role Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting incoming steel products and materials to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Picking and assembling steel orders to prepare for customer deliveries.
• Operating forklifts and overhead cranes for loading and unloading trucks safely and effectively.
• Precisely identifying, measuring, and handling various steel products.
• Ensuring all orders are correctly prepared and ready for dispatch.
• Assisting drivers with loading and securing cargo when necessary.
• Conducting stock verifications and supporting inventory management.
• Maintaining a tidy and hazard-free warehouse and yard area.
• Complying with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily dispatch objectives.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in warehouse operations, steel industry, transport, logistics, or a related industrial field.
• Possession of forklift experience and/or a forklift license.
• Familiarity with operating overhead cranes.
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
• Capability to handle heavy materials safely and effectively.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Reliable work ethic and a constructive, positive attitude.
• Ability to work in outdoor warehouse and yard settings.
• Physical fitness sufficient for manual handling tasks.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently as required.
• Diligent about safety and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
• Experience dealing with steel or heavy industrial products.
• Understanding of different steel products, dimensions, and measurements.
• Experience in transport, logistics, or dispatch environments is advantageous.

Working Hours

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Once fully trained and capable of working autonomously, shifts may adjust to 8:00 AM through 4:00 PM depending on operational needs.
