Database Administrator - Digital Bank

The Digital Bank Technology teams develop and operate the core technology platforms that support these services.

The Database Administrator (DBA) team oversees all database infrastructures for digital banking operations, ensuring the delivery of large-scale applications tailored for the banking and finance industry. Their goal is to provide secure, stable, and dependable database solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage banking database administration tasks such as capacity planning, installation, backups, recovery, monitoring, security, compliance, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with development teams on database design, creation, optimization, and problem resolution.
• Assess current software architectures and contribute to future enhancements focused on database stability and performance optimization.
• Initiate and implement projects aimed at lowering database operational expenses and automating routine processes.
• Create and provide documentation and training materials emphasizing database best practices.
• Explore and develop innovative technologies and methodologies to achieve highly available and efficient data persistence systems.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational database management, including high availability and performance optimization techniques.
• At least one year of DBA experience within banking, financial services, or internet service sectors.
• Proven hands-on experience with MySQL in a full-time role.
• Additional experience with MS SQL Server or Oracle is advantageous.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Golang.
• Extensive experience with Linux operations and shell scripting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to perform under pressure during critical incidents and routine activities.
• Detail-oriented with adaptability and flexibility.
• Capable of juggling multiple assignments and shifting priorities effectively.
• Quick to learn and eager to work with various database technologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working independently as well as in a team setting.
