Data Scientist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to develop and deploy predictive and analytical models that enhance our demand forecasting, inventory management, production planning, and quality control across multiple departments. This position involves extensive use of advanced machine learning techniques, computer vision, and integration with enterprise systems in a manufacturing or textile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement demand and sales forecasting models tailored for various divisions and seasonal trends.
• Optimize inventory management and replenishment strategies to ensure efficiency.
• Plan manufacturing processes and identify anomalies within operational data.
• Apply computer vision techniques to detect fabric defects and accurately grade garments.
• Develop real-world models utilizing time series analysis, classification, optimization, and vision methods on complex, seasonal, and unstructured datasets.
• Deploy models by immersing in departmental workflows including planning, merchandising, supply chain, retail operations, finance, manufacturing, and quality; train teams, empower process champions, and create standard operating procedures to guarantee adoption.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for analytics tools and capabilities strategically.
• Manage APIs and oversee integration between SAP and BigQuery platforms, along with data governance and reporting infrastructures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 8 years' expertise in data science, analytics, and technical project delivery with a strong emphasis on solutions deployed for end-users.
• Advanced knowledge of forecasting models including ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, and XGBoost, coupled with skills in regression, classification, clustering, and anomaly identification.
• Experience in supply chain analytics and computer vision is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with large-scale data platforms such as BigQuery or Spark.
• Capability to extract and manipulate data from SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Hands-on experience applying AI technologies including prompting techniques, retrieval methods, AI agents, and accurate performance evaluation.
• Demonstrated aptitude in training non-technical personnel and fostering continuous adoption of new data workflows.
• Preferred background in textile, apparel, or garment manufacturing sectors; alternatively, experience in general manufacturing or physical operations.
• Fluency in both Hindi and English languages is essential.
