Role Overview

This position focuses on the architecture, creation, and enhancement of data platforms that align with the company’s strategic objectives in data and analytics. It involves implementing solutions that ensure scalability, superior performance, and robustness of data platforms. The role demands specialized knowledge in data platform engineering and data architecture, along with a commitment to advancing automation and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data platform architectures and technologies that are scalable and deliver high performance.
• Lead and guide the development of data engineering workflows, best practices, and related tooling.
• Offer technical direction for data platform projects, collaborating closely with data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Manage the deployment and ongoing performance, security, and compliance of data platform solutions concerning data acquisition, storage, transformation, querying, analysis, and consumption.
• Apply industry-leading data orchestration techniques to minimize downtime and optimize resource use in data pipelines.
• Improve data ingestion, storage, retrieval, and processing processes focusing on boosting performance and lowering operational costs.
• Design and oversee data warehousing solutions including schema design, data modeling, and enhancing database performance.
• Develop and enforce processes for data integration, ETL/ELT workflows, and data quality assurance, adhering strictly to data governance policies.
• Ensure smooth integration of data platforms with existing systems and data sources, supporting both batch and real-time processing; maintain various data storage architectures such as data lakes, lake houses, and operational data stores to cater to analytics and BI requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data science, BI, and technology units to deliver comprehensive platform solutions meeting diverse business needs.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree with fluency in English and Arabic mandatory; proficiency in Russian, Turkish, or Central Asian languages is advantageous.
• Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities suitable for interaction at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated team collaboration skills and leadership qualities.
• Relevant certifications in big data and data integration technologies preferred.
• A minimum of seven years’ experience in data engineering or related roles with extensive knowledge of big data platforms and technology.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL/ELT systems.
• Proven ability to design and optimize large-scale data infrastructure.
• Experience managing projects and leading teams, capable of executing under pressure to meet deadlines and targets.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and instill a culture of collaboration, innovation, transparency, and accountability.
• Strong strategic execution and effective communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional demeanor with capability to inspire by example and facilitate smooth transitions during change initiatives.
