Job description

Overview

Join the expanding Contact Centre at New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and become part of a dedicated team focused on delivering excellent customer service. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a competitive starting salary of $62,192 plus KiwiSaver benefits. Hybrid work arrangements are available, combining office presence and remote work where appropriate.

Role Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, your primary duties will involve handling inbound phone and email communications efficiently, providing accurate advice, and ensuring a positive experience for our customers. You will receive thorough training and ongoing coaching to build the skills necessary to address customer inquiries effectively and offer suitable solutions.

Work Hours and Location

  • Work 40 hours per week on rotating shifts with rosters issued every three weeks.
  • Operating hours include weekdays from 7:55 am to 6:00 pm and weekends from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Weekend availability, including Saturdays and/or Sundays, is required as part of your shift pattern.
  • Mandatory onboarding and induction training is full-time from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, scheduled for mid-November.
  • These roles are based at the Wellington central contact centre.

Candidate Profile

  • Genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service.
  • Strong communication skills combined with an energetic approach.
  • Ability to adapt quickly within a fast-paced work environment.
  • A creative and smart approach to problem solving.
  • Previous experience working in a Contact Centre is beneficial.
  • Technologically proficient with a quick learning aptitude for new systems.
  • Attention to detail and capacity to retain complex information.
  • High computer literacy and eagerness to learn continually.
  • Desire to understand and promote Te Ao Māori, tikanga and Te Reo Māori.
  • Willingness to appreciate the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi as applied within the public sector.
  • Applicants with criminal or traffic convictions will not necessarily be excluded; however, as an organisation dedicated to road safety, staff are expected to model appropriate driving behaviours.
