Customer Delivery Driver - Yate Extra

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in Yate, you serve as the company's ambassador on the road, meeting customers directly at their residences. This position involves much more than just driving; it focuses on assisting customers and delivering exceptional service with a friendly demeanor. The work is physically engaging, diverse, and each shift brings different tasks. While you will primarily work independently throughout the day, supportive management and colleagues are available at base when assistance is needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van, trays, and your working environment to ensure customers receive their shopping in impeccable condition.
• Safely load the van and conduct all necessary safety and reliability checks to guarantee the vehicle is ready for delivery duties.
• Communicate courteously with customers regarding any changes in their orders, substitutions, or perishable items, providing refunds if necessary to ensure a smooth and positive experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating every delivery with utmost attention to maintain quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within the allocated time slots, offering warm, natural service at the customer's door and leaving them feeling appreciated and well cared for.

Requirements

• Build strong, positive relationships with colleagues to foster excellent team spirit and optimize service quality for customers.
• Be friendly and welcoming to customers and fellow team members alike.
• Adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and embrace changes both while out on delivery routes and at the store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic transmission) for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
