About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you'll be the friendly face representing the company on the road, delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This role involves much more than just driving; it is a physically active position that offers a variety of tasks and requires a warm, helpful approach. Each shift offers unique experiences, and while much of the work is done independently, you will have the support of management and colleagues at the depot.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and workspace to ensure deliveries are presented in excellent condition.
• Load the van safely and conduct thorough checks to confirm the vehicle's roadworthiness, reliability, and readiness for service.
• Communicate proactively and kindly with customers about any order changes, product substitutions, or nearing expiry items, and manage refunds when necessary to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each delivery with individual care and quality assurance to build customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the scheduled time slots, providing courteous service at customers' doorsteps to leave a positive impression.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrate ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and deliver excellent customer service.
• Exhibit warmth and approachability with both customers and fellow staff.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility while working both on the road and at store base.
• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA full or automatic driving licence held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
