Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in North Shields, you will be the public face of the company, personally delivering groceries to customers' homes. This role requires more than just driving; it involves providing friendly service, handling goods carefully, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. The work is varied and physically active, with independent tasks balanced by team support from managers and colleagues at the base.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure shoppers receive their orders in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery vehicle safely and conduct necessary checks to guarantee it is roadworthy and dependable for daily operations.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with customers about any changes, substitutions, or nearing expiration dates in their orders; process refunds when appropriate to maintain a positive customer journey.
• Handle products with utmost care, treating every order as your personal responsibility to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the customer's specified timeframe, offering warm and natural service that makes customers feel appreciated.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to foster strong working relationships within your team to create positive teamwork and excellent customer service.
• Friendly and welcoming attitude towards both customers and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and embrace changes while on the road or in the store.
• Possession of a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with a maximum of three penalty points.
