Customer Delivery Driver - Martlesham Extra

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be the friendly face representing Tesco to customers, delivering their orders directly to their homes. This position goes beyond just driving; it’s about offering helpful, cheerful service, managing physical work that varies daily, and often working independently with a supportive team available at the base.

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of your van, trays, and work area to ensure customers receive their shopping in excellent condition.
• Load the delivery vehicle safely and perform all necessary checks to ensure it is safe and reliable for the day’s deliveries.
• Communicate clearly and kindly with customers about any changes to their orders, including substitutions or short-dated items, and arrange refunds as needed to ensure smooth customer experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each order with the utmost quality to build customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the allotted time slots, providing warm and genuine service at the doorstep that makes customers feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build positive relationships with team members to foster a strong team atmosphere supporting excellent service delivery.
• Display a warm, welcoming approach to both customers and colleagues.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer requirements and embrace shifts in procedures occurring both on the road and at the store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (manual or automatic) held for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points.
