Customer Delivery Driver - Leyland

About the Role

Serving as Tesco's representative on the road, Customer Delivery Drivers engage with customers in their homes daily. This position involves much more than driving; it focuses on assisting people and delivering excellent service with a friendly attitude. The job is hands-on, physically active, and offers diverse tasks, ensuring that no two shifts are alike. You will spend much of the day working independently, backed by a supportive team of managers and colleagues at the base for assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work area to guarantee customers receive their shopping in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and perform necessary checks to ensure it is roadworthy, dependable, and prepared to deliver outstanding service.
• Communicate with customers about any order modifications, substitutions, or near-expiry items in a friendly and reassuring manner, providing refunds as necessary to maintain a smooth experience.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own to uphold quality and customer confidence.
• Ensure timely delivery within customers' designated slots, offering warm and genuine service at the doorstep, leaving customers feeling valued and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming demeanor toward customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change both during road deliveries and at the store.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (manual or automatic) for a minimum of 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
