Drivers operate mostly independently but have the support of a team of managers and colleagues at the base when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace ensuring all customer orders are delivered in perfect condition.
- Load the delivery van safely and perform all necessary checks to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy and ready to deliver excellent service.
- Communicate any changes to customer orders, substitution items, or items nearing expiry in a friendly manner, providing refunds as appropriate to maintain a smooth and positive customer experience.
- Handle products carefully, treating each order as if it were your own to uphold quality and customer confidence.
- Deliver orders within customers’ designated time slots, offering warm and natural service at the doorstep to ensure customers feel valued and well cared for.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and deliver outstanding service to customers.
- A warm, friendly, and welcoming attitude towards customers and colleagues alike.
- Adaptability to respond quickly to changing customer needs and a readiness to embrace change both on the road and in-store.
- Possession of a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
Benefits
- Holiday entitlement starting from 20 days plus a personal day, increasing to 22 days after completing 12 months, plus Bank Holidays.
- Flexible working options available from the first day of employment.
- 10% discount via Colleague Clubcard, increasing to 15% on pay-day weekends; includes an additional card for family use.
- Access to free wellbeing services supporting mental, physical, and personal health.
- Life insurance coverage at five times your pay and participation in an award-winning pension scheme with contributions matched up to 7.5%.
- Wide range of benefits including various discounts, share schemes, and a cycle-to-work program.
- Uniform provision and company policies designed to assist you through significant life events.
