Customer Delivery Driver - Hatfield Extra

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco in Hatfield, you will be the friendly face representing the company while delivering orders directly to customers' homes. This role involves more than just driving; it focuses on providing exceptional service, assistance, and smiles during deliveries. The work is hands-on, physically engaging, and offers variety, with each shift presenting unique challenges. Though much of your time is spent independently on the road, a supportive team of managers and colleagues will be available at the base whenever needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and work area to ensure every order arrives in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and conduct necessary checks to guarantee the vehicle is fit for service and reliable.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding any alterations to their orders, substitutions, or approaching expiry dates, offering refunds to ensure a smooth and positive delivery experience.
• Handle all products with care, treating each order as if it were your own to preserve quality and sustain customer trust.
• Deliver orders strictly within assigned time windows, providing a warm, friendly service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued and well-supported.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build positive and strong relationships with team members to foster a collaborative work environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Friendly, welcoming demeanor toward both customers and colleagues.
• Adaptability to respond swiftly to customer needs and embrace changes during deliveries and while at the store.
• Must hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) that has been held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.

• Starting pay of £14.18 per hour, increasing up to £15.45 in stores located within the M25; some areas may offer additional payments.
