Custodian - Fort Wayne

Position Overview

The Head Start Custodian position is based in Allen County, Fort Wayne, IN, requiring full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. The role primarily focuses on maintaining cleanliness and performing upkeep tasks both inside and outside the facility, including playground areas. Minor maintenance and repair duties are also part of the responsibilities and may extend to other Head Start site locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Consistently uphold internal cleanliness of the building.
• Keep playground areas clean and safe at all times.
• Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance on the main and other designated sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent certification.
• Preferred: Minimum of two years' experience in custodial work or building maintenance.
• Ability to operate independently with strong motivation, attention to detail, organizational skills, cooperation, reliability, flexibility, and productivity.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 12 months of hire.
• Valid Indiana driver's license is mandatory for employees driving for Brightpoint, along with maintaining auto insurance coverage of at least $100,000/$300,000 liability limits.
