CRG Stockroom Controller

About the Role

Woolworths is looking to recruit a diligent Stockroom Controller to join the Country Road Group retail team at the Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is critical for supporting store leadership in meeting sales objectives and key performance indicators by effectively managing all stockroom-related operations. The individual will be responsible for ensuring an orderly, clean, and efficient stockroom environment that facilitates seamless stock movements in alignment with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accurate transfer and documentation of stock between the store, stockrooms, and distribution centers, including Inter-Branch Transfers (IBTs), Return to Owner (RTO), Return to Vendor (RTV), and stock consolidations.
• Track and follow up on stock movements, courier pickups, and transfers to guarantee completion within established timelines.
• Coordinate monthly product launches distribution across Country Road Group stores.
• Ensure correct packing, handling, tagging, and processing of stock as per company guidelines.
• Analyze daily stock reports to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures to uphold stock accuracy.
• Maintain precise stock records, systematic filing, and an organized stockroom for operational efficiency.
• Provide regular reports on stock availability, highlight fast- and slow-moving products, and opportunities for stock consolidation.
• Develop and sustain strong communications and relationships with other Stock Controllers, store management, and team members.
• Offer operational support during periods of staff shortages, employee leave, and peak trading seasons.
• Assist with stocktaking activities, ad-hoc counts, and initiatives aimed at reducing shrinkage, identifying ways to minimize stock loss.
• Ensure strict adherence to all Woolworths and Country Road Group policies related to health and safety, risk, security, and stock control processes.
• Collaborate effectively as part of the wider team to help achieve store and department objectives while embodying the values and behaviors of Country Road Group.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum completed Grade 12 qualification or equivalent National Certificate.
• Between 2 to 3 or more years’ experience working in a fashion retail stockroom or customer-oriented stockroom role.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for the retail sector with a clear ambition for career growth.
• Ability to utilize retail Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to elevate team and stockroom performance.
• Strong familiarity with products to offer styling guidance, enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Prior experience serving in positions such as stockroom assistant, supervisor, or unofficial stockroom controller.
• Leadership capability to set an example and motivate team members to perform effectively.
• Competence in delegating tasks and supporting daily operational activities within stores.
• Experience providing coaching, motivation, and backing to team members to drive successful outcomes.
