About the Role
Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust provides a dynamic and fast-moving environment where no two days are alike. We are dedicated to supporting students in achieving their best outcomes and are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and diligent individual to join our existing team of Cover Supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities
The appointed Cover Supervisor will oversee pupils and their assigned work during temporary teacher absences. This role entails taking full responsibility for groups of students to deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring students remain focused and complete assigned tasks. Effective classroom behavior management to foster a positive learning atmosphere is crucial, with training and support provided. Collaborating closely with teaching staff across various subjects, the role supports the delivery of education across the curriculum.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have experience working within a secondary school environment and demonstrate confidence and assertiveness, particularly in behavioral management skills to maintain constructive classroom learning. Strong literacy and numeracy abilities are required alongside proficiency in ICT. A minimum of GCSE grade C/4 or above in Mathematics and English is essential.
Duties
- Supervising students during short-term teacher absences across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring they engage with and complete assigned pre-prepared work.
- Assuming responsibilities as a form tutor or active member of the pastoral team.
- Coordinating with teaching staff regarding the work set during absences and managing the collection and return of completed assignments.
- Supporting faculties and departments with administrative and supervisory tasks.
