Job description
Overview
Bland Shire Council is seeking a skilled and visionary Coordinator Assets to lead its asset management division. This role goes beyond simple asset register maintenance; it focuses on transforming asset condition assessments, risk evaluations, financial data, and other pertinent information into strategic priorities that shape maintenance, renewal, capital investments, and long-term Council planning.
Candidate Profile
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a blend of technical knowledge, financial acumen, and strategic foresight, supported by qualifications in Civil Construction, Asset Management, Finance, or comparable fields, alongside solid experience managing infrastructure assets.
- A comprehensive grasp of the asset lifecycle is vital, encompassing areas such as condition assessment, risk analysis, asset valuation, renewal scheduling, lifecycle cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and developing long-term financial plans. Success in this role hinges on the ability to integrate this information to guide sustainable infrastructure investments.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills are essential. The candidate should be capable of evaluating broad perspectives, scrutinizing data accuracy, questioning conventional processes, and uncovering opportunities to enhance Council’s asset management methods.
- Effective communication skills and relationship-building capacities are crucial, as is sound professional judgment to work collaboratively across operational, technical, and financial units within the Council.
- A commitment to workplace safety, equal opportunity employment, and promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive culture is required.
- A current Class C Drivers Licence is mandatory.
Benefits
- Supportive family-oriented workplace with friendly colleagues.
- Competitive remuneration with prospects for salary increments.
- Five weeks of annual leave.
- Eligibility for 6.5 weeks of long service leave after five years.

- Hourly base rate starting at $55.89.
- Council contribution to superannuation of 12%.
