The firm actively trades a broad range of commodities including crude and refined oil products, power and gas, coal and emissions, freight, concentrates, metals, aluminum, and agricultural products.

Role Summary

The Contracts Operator will be accountable for managing physical commodities contracts, primarily focusing on concentrates, metals, and aluminum within the Asia regional hub. There are also opportunities to engage with contracts related to other commodities traded in this region.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate physical commodity contracts across various commodity types.
• Develop suitable responses and counter proposals to contracts for different physical commodities.
• Execute the contracts management cycle aligned with internal procedures, policies, and stipulated timelines.
• Maintain and update contract templates ensuring clauses are current and correctly incorporated in internal systems.
• Collaborate effectively with traders, logistics operators, legal, credit, finance, and other pertinent departments.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Contracts Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree.
• At least four years of experience managing physical commodity contracts, with a preference for expertise in metals and concentrates; however, experience in dry commodities like coal and iron ore, crude oil, or other oil products will also be considered.
• Background in operations is advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of contracts administration, management, and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional English writing skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and well-organized.
• Strong emphasis on controls, with a thorough understanding of physical trading operations and trade life cycle.
