Job description
Overview
Our client is an established and expanding specialist contractor engaged in complex projects spanning construction, infrastructure, government, utilities, transport, resources, and commercial sectors. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for a seasoned Contracts Administrator to join their team and oversee commercial administration for multiple projects.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage construction contracts from initial award through project completion.
- Interpret and oversee contractual requirements, notices, and obligations diligently.
- Prepare and handle contract variations, extensions of time, and claims.
- Support subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and administration of contracts.
- Track project costs, commitments, progress claims, and overall commercial performance.
- Administer payment schedules, process invoices, and maintain relevant documents.
- Keep exhaustive contract registers and ensure project documentation is accurate.
- Identify commercial and contractual risks, escalating concerns when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, site teams, and other internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Assist in monthly reporting, forecasting, and commercial reviews of projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to contractual and commercial procedures across projects.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience as a Contracts Administrator in construction, civil, infrastructure, or related contracting environments is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial workflows.
- Proficiency in managing variations, claims, extensions of time (EOTs), and progress claims.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Remarkable attention to detail and organizational acumen.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, Law or related fields are highly valued.
Experience working with subcontractors or specialist contractors is advantageous.
