Job description

Role Overview

The Android Senior Developer on contract will be responsible for implementing core business logic in mobile applications. This role demands deep familiarity with Android programming languages and design patterns to produce maintainable, well-structured code. The developer must translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with domain teams to ensure product functionality and reporting meet expectations. Besides strong technical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in mobile app creation within agile environments.
  • Proven ability to deliver products with a focus on Android platforms.
  • Minimum of five years working with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android Studio.
  • Strong grasp of contemporary Android development practices and concepts.
  • Experience managing apps with significant user bases.
  • Skilled at writing reusable, testable code and conducting unit/UI testing, code reviews, and debugging.
  • Knowledgeable in software architecture, design principles, and modularization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies like CI/CD, containerization, and deployment automation.
  • Experience using Google Play Console and Firebase for app deployment.
  • Ability to integrate AI responsibly to enhance engineering workflows and coach peers.
  • Understanding of multiple industries to support shaping business strategies and outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and quick technology adoption.

Primary Duties

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications and their integration solutions.
  • Write clear, performant, and secure code focused on usability and maintenance.
  • Apply established design patterns and adhere to development best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams, QA, and Business Analysts to meet requirements and resolve ambiguities.
  • Provide timely troubleshooting and participate in after-hours support if needed.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead efforts on recurring technical issues, advocating continuous improvements to reduce downtime.
  • Ensure all work complies with governance and quality standards.
