Job description
Overview
The Contract Administrator will oversee contractual, commercial, and cost-related aspects within project activities. This role ensures efficient contract administration, manages change requests, validates payment certifications, handles claim processes, and prepares commercial reports during the project lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction contracts in line with project specifications and contractual obligations.
- Ensure contractor compliance to contract terms, specifications, and delivery milestones.
- Interpret contract clauses and advise project teams accordingly.
- Review contract correspondence and draft commercial and contractual responses.
- Maintain detailed contract records, logs, and supporting documentation in compliance with governance guidelines.
- Track project expenditures and commercial performance against budget approvals.
- Support cost forecasting, financial reporting, and commercial evaluations.
- Assist leadership in identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
- Manage variation orders, amendments, and change requests, assessing impacts and preparing approvals.
- Assess contractual entitlements and support dispute resolution and claim negotiations.
- Validate contractor payment requests against progress, quantities, and milestones, preparing payment certifications.
- Review measured quantities related to bridge and infrastructure works, supporting reconciliation and cost checks.
- Assist procurement activities including tender documentation, bid evaluations, and subcontract administration.
- Monitor commercial risks and maintain risk registers and issue logs.
- Maintain contractual records supporting audits and compliance checks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Master's degree in Construction Law, Commercial Management, or Project Management preferred.
- Professional memberships such as RICS, CIArb, ICE, AACE or similar preferred.
Experience
- 8 to 12 years in commercial management, quantity surveying or contract administration.
- At least 5 years on major bridge, highway, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with FIDIC contract forms is essential.
- Exposure to GCC and Saudi infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Experience collaborating with consultants, project management consultants, government clients, or major contractors preferred.
