This role reports directly to the Senior Contracts Administrator overseeing client portfolios. The main focus involves managing contract onboarding, ensuring commercial compliance, and overseeing the commercial activities of a large national supply chain. The role supports clients and supply chain with matters such as notices, contract variations, claims, and governance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently onboard subcontractors, handle subcontract preparation and execution, manage departures and negotiations within company policy, set pricing structures, and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams to understand project requirements, develop scopes and procurement strategies, and facilitate selection and assessment processes.
- Serve as the commercial liaison with supply chain partners to address and resolve commercial issues.
- Maintain up-to-date contract records, manage contract extensions, insurance details, notices, and variations to ensure supply chain compliance.
- Proactively identify and resolve compliance-related issues including SOPA regulations, licensing, and levies.
- Design and implement processes, procedures, and tools to enhance commercial operations.
- Support comprehensive contract and commercial management upstream and downstream of projects.
- Prepare, review, submit, and track commercial notices including variations, claims, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with managing defect resolutions, third-party damage claims, and complaints.
- Contribute to pre-contract activities such as contract review, risk assessments, pricing, and documentation preparation.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments including support teams, VisRes, legal, and corporate commercial teams to deliver positive outcomes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Law, Business Management, or a related discipline, complemented by at least three years of experience in commercial, legal, or contract administration — preferably within the Telecommunications sector.
Additional skills include:
- Strong understanding of standard subcontract forms and contract management mechanisms.
- Demonstrated commercial insight with experience in subcontract management, tendering, legal claims, contract administration, KPI analysis, and profit enhancement.
- Proficiency at an intermediate to advanced level with Microsoft Office tools—especially Excel—as well as SharePoint and JIRA platforms.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills aimed at attaining mutually beneficial results.
