About the Role

Join Baxter International Inc. in Christchurch as a Compounding Technician and contribute to healthcare by preparing sterile medications vital for patient care. This role centers around manufacturing chemotherapy, antibiotics, and nutritional products using aseptic techniques, ensuring stringent quality and safety standards. The position offers a full-time, 12-month contract with prospects for extension and permanent employment. Shifts run between 08:00 am and 17:30 pm with two main shift options and opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Selecting and preparing raw ingredients for production.
  • Aseptically mixing sterile pharmaceutical solutions.
  • Packing and performing quality inspections of finished products.
  • Labelling and arranging dispatch of completed orders.
  • Accurately documenting processes aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Complying with Baxter's Standard Operating Procedures and additional assigned tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail in work processes.
  • Openness to acquiring new skills and adapting to shift schedules.
  • Capability to follow defined procedures and safety protocols in a cleanroom environment.
  • Precision and consistency in repetitive manual tasks.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in pharmacy, manufacturing, or warehousing is advantageous.
  • Manual dexterity for handling repetitive production tasks.
  • Previous experience in manual compounding is highly desirable.
