Position Overview

The Commis B (Pastry) role at Aloft Hotels in Dubai involves preparing and cooking food items following recipes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation, and adhering to food preparation checklists. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook foods according to set recipes and presentation standards.
• Portion, chop, and store ingredients correctly before cooking.
• Operate baking and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
• Adhere strictly to food safety handling and personal hygiene policies.
• Monitor and verify kitchen appliance and food temperatures, promptly reporting discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness by washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, setting up and dismantling workstations, and following sanitation protocols.
• Consistently check the quality and portions of food served during shifts.
• Adhere to company policies on safety, security, and confidentiality while maintaining professional appearance and conduct.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and handle telephone etiquette appropriately.
• Establish positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Perform physical activities including lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds, navigating uneven or slippery surfaces, and extended standing, sitting, or walking.
• Complete additional reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
• Less than one year of related work experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications necessary.
