Role Overview

The company seeks a knowledgeable Commercial Construction Estimator experienced in preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. The role involves quantity takeoffs, blueprint analysis, collaboration with architects and subcontractors, preparing bids, and supporting procurement and cost-saving efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead
  • Perform precise quantity takeoffs from blueprints and specifications
  • Review and analyze project documents, including plans, site conditions, and specifications
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to collect necessary information
  • Prepare and submit pre-bid packages such as estimates, budgets, and schedules
  • Assist in bid proposal preparation and engage in bidding processes
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities via value engineering without sacrificing quality
  • Support procurement in negotiating supplier and subcontractor pricing
  • Stay current on market trends, pricing, and construction industry standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience
  • Proficiency with construction estimating software, Microsoft Office applications, and blueprint reading
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
