Role Overview
The Coating Inspector position is a full-time, on-location role based in Dammam. The incumbent will oversee and validate all coating and painting processes to guarantee adherence to project criteria, industry standards, and safety protocols. Core daily duties involve inspecting surface preparations, evaluating coating application methods, verifying material certifications, and thoroughly documenting inspection results.
This role requires collaboration with supervisors, contractors, and quality assurance teams to manage deviations, implement corrective measures, and assist in the final approval of coated and insulated surfaces. Furthermore, the inspector will engage in regular site walkthroughs, preliminary application checks, and concluding inspections to uphold consistent quality and longevity of protective systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in inspecting protective coatings and painting processes, including surface preparation, application, curing, and adhesion testing.
- Familiarity with insulation materials and installation methods, ensuring compliance with project and safety standards.
- Experienced in executing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, preparing detailed reports, and supporting audits related to coating and insulation tasks.
- Competent in coordinating with onsite teams, advising contractors on quality requirements, and facilitating corrective and preventive actions.
- Possession of relevant certifications like NACE, SSPC, or similar qualifications for coating inspection is desirable.
- Background in industrial, construction, or oil and gas sectors, especially in coatings and insulation inspection activities.
- Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the capability to interpret technical schematics, codes, and specifications.
- Effective communication skills in English, with Arabic language proficiency considered an advantage.
