Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to expertly set up and manage CNC machines performing various machining processes such as drilling, grinding, milling, and turning. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings into precise production dimensions and ensuring the machines operate efficiently to achieve quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate CNC equipment for diverse machining jobs including drilling, grinding, milling, and turning activities.
- Interpret and convert engineering blueprints and specifications into production dimensions.
- Supervise machine operations continuously, making necessary adjustments to optimize output quality.
- Handle the loading and unloading of raw materials and machinery components.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine operations, production quantities, and quality assurance logs.
- Conduct daily equipment cleaning, coolant level monitoring, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Examine finished products to verify compliance with client standards and machining process quality.
- Troubleshoot general machine issues to reduce downtime effectively.
- Perform in-process measurements and visual inspections to ensure production quality meets customer requirements.
- Complete all mandatory controlled documents, including SFC (Shop Floor Control) data input and daily downtime records.
- Track scrap rates for produced parts and alert supervisors if levels surpass average thresholds.
- Set up cutting tools accurately based on the Cutting Tool List, using heat shrink fitting and dynamic tool balancing methods to conform with drawing requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a Trade School Accreditation, High School diploma, or an equivalent educational certificate.
- A certificate or diploma in Engineering would be considered advantageous.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization applying 5S principles within the work area.
Experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience operating CNC Milling and Turning machines.
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
Minimum education
Higher Secondary (Class 12)
