About the Role

Alstom is a global leader providing rail transportation systems relied on by millions every day. The Cluster HR Director for Mainline will serve as the senior HR Business Partner overseeing human resources for a business cluster spanning 3,000+ employees across three main German locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end HR delivery within the cluster while ensuring clear delegation, ownership, and escalation.
  • Drive change management initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness and establish a high-performance culture.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies through coordination with Site HR Leaders aligned to organizational objectives.
  • Lead talent initiatives, coach managers for talent development, enforce succession planning and maintain strong talent pipelines.
  • Manage employee relations, compliance, and engagement to promote an inclusive workplace.
  • Advise senior leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, and change implementation.
  • Maintain alignment of HR policies with global standards while adapting to local requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Significant leadership experience in HR within matrix organizational structures, ideally in multinational publicly traded firms.
  • Strong expertise in talent management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • In-depth knowledge of German employment law and employee relations; experience with multiple legal jurisdictions advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills combined with inclusive leadership qualities.
  • Fluent in both German and English languages.
