Cluster Chief Engineer

Job Summary

As a Cluster Chief Engineer at Hilton, you play a vital role beyond overseeing maintenance and repair of buildings and systems. You will contribute to delivering outstanding hospitality experiences by managing engineering operations across multiple properties in Dubai, focusing on guest satisfaction and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, training, supervision, and mentorship of the engineering team, fostering a motivated, high-performance environment.
• Ensure safety standards are maintained by managing maintenance for buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, and life safety systems, coordinating inspections and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities using maintenance management systems, prioritizing and ensuring prompt resolution of service requests, guest issues, and emergencies.
• Support capital improvement projects including scheduling, budgeting, contractor management, and regulatory permits.
• Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives to improve property efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor engineering department performance through KPIs related to equipment condition, audits, and team productivity, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership on safety protocols including evacuation and duty management.
• Manage engineering operations during busy periods and swiftly address guest concerns with discretion and sound judgment.
• Lead, coach and evaluate engineering managers and supervisors, ensuring ongoing professional development and strong team communication.
• Administer engineering budgets, optimize labor costs based on demand, and oversee inventory and supply management.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with health, safety, and engineering procedures, including stock control and billing accuracy.
• Coordinate shift schedules and maintain adequate staffing aligned with business needs.
• Address special guest occasions with attention to detail and hospitality.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in leadership roles within international hotel chains.
• International engineering experience in hospitality settings.
• Proven leadership abilities to effectively manage diverse teams and meet performance targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to guest satisfaction and service quality enhancement.
• Robust operational knowledge coupled with commercial insight.
• Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management, revenue proposals, and cost control.
• Flexible availability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Passion for developing oneself and team members professionally.
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Resilient, accountable, capable of multitasking and working well under pressure.
